In a further effort to meet International quality standards For maintaining and improving quality of services, MMC is certified and committed to the certification process through the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2008.
Quality management system is implemented by following aspects.
quality policy which is prepared by the management is understood and practiced by every employee of the hospital.
Quality manual is made describing relevant ISO Standards in relation to hospital services. Also the documentation requirements and controls are defined.
Quality system procedure : Departmental procedure, relevant to all departments are made by HOD’s, explained & implemented by all staff.
Work instruction : Work instruction to relevant procedures are made and is available for all staff.
Quality Assurance : MMC has identified following 4 aspects as our pillar for assessment of quality.
Customer feedback analysis: we take oral &written feedback from our patients, vendors and staff. All feedback is analysed; corrective and preventive actions are taken.
Incident report analysis : All untoward incidents in the hospital are reported in a form
Root case analysis, is done to find out the root cause, corrective and preventive actions are taken as necessary.
Internal audit : Quality Internal audits are done based on ISO Standards by trained internal auditors, non conformities are analyzed, corrective and preventive actions are taken.
Surveillance of hospital acquired infection: Hospital Infection Control Committee has developed Infection Control Manual including protocol. Infection control nurse does continuous training and supervision of implementation. Strict surveillance of HAI are done with corrective and preventive action where ever necessary. Standard /accredited aseptic/sterilization precautions are adopted to ensure 0 risk of transmitted infection.
Continuous quality improvement (CQI). The management of MMC believes that Quality does not end anywhere. As part of Quality improvement activities following steps are undertaken.
Public relation officer assistance for any issues related to patient problems.
Sound alike & look alike medicine lists are prepared to prevent medication errors.
Quality circle : each department has a quality circle (level II) to analyze the issues related to quality, solve/find solution in department level or bring up to Quality Circle Level I and implement solution. |
